Coach Hire Across Australia

What Groups Charter a Coach For

Choose the kind of trip. Each page covers the rules that apply and what to put in the request.

Rules follow the kind of trip

Victorian schools must plan excursion transport in advance: vehicles registered, drivers holding every licence they need. A football squad fills the underfloor bays with kit. A conference shuttle loops all day, so driver hours bind. A wedding needs a late last run. Big groups on a Hunter Valley winery day book cellar doors in advance. Coaches bound for Victoria's alpine resorts carry chains, and the driver holds a Hazardous Area Authority.

Airports come first

Almost every group flies in before anything else happens. The airport transfer rules below apply at the start of most trips.

Rules that apply

  • In NSW, point to point transport covers trips in vehicles with 12 seats or fewer, including the driver, such as limousines, airport transfers and other hire vehicles
  • SkyBus links Melbourne Airport with Southern Cross Station in the Melbourne CBD

Say so when you request the quote. We put the need to operators, and earlier notice widens the choice. It is unclear whether charter coaches fall under the public transport accessibility standards, so nothing is taken for granted.

Questions

Can one booking run over several days?

Yes. Send the full program. Driver hours carry across days, so the operator plans them as one job.

Does a guide come with the coach?

No. The booking is a vehicle and driver. If you want a guide, say so and we will ask the operator.

What if my trip is none of these?

Send it anyway. Quotes are built from itineraries, not packages.
