Coach Charter to the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal
The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal sits out at Luggage Point, with no public transport and tight entry rules. For a group, a booked coach is the practical way in, provided the port has agreed to it first.
Who gets onto the site
On ship days the terminal admits only the coaches and buses that the cruise lines have booked for that day. A charter your group arranges is treated differently. Port of Brisbane and the site parking operator must both agree to it in advance, before it moves any passengers in or out. The operator asks for that agreement on your behalf.
Send the ship name, the date and the passenger count as early as you can. Without agreement in place, a coach cannot simply turn up and wait. That is the main reason to book a Brisbane cruise transfer well ahead.

Where a coach stops
Coaches, shuttles and anything longer than 6.5 m, or towing a trailer, go to the Coach & Shuttle Area. They are kept out of the two-minute loop in front of the terminal. That loop is for cars and limousines under 6.5 m, and their drivers stay with the vehicle. The loop ends in two accessible bays, which matters if a passenger who uses a wheelchair is travelling in a smaller vehicle.
Taxis and rideshare wait about 120 m from the entrance, reached along a covered walkway. The building only opens on days when a ship is alongside.
Getting from the ship to the coach
- Only coaches and buses pre-booked by the cruise lines operating from the terminal that day may enter the BICT site.
- Charter connections and off-site parking shuttles need prior agreement from Port of Brisbane and Wilson Parking before transferring passengers to or from the terminal.
- Coaches, shuttles and any vehicle longer than 6.5 m or towing a trailer must use the Coach & Shuttle Area; they are not allowed in the 2-minute pick-up and set-down loop.
- Limousines shorter than 6.5 m may use the 2-minute pick-up and set-down area in front of the terminal, and the driver must stay with the vehicle.
- The taxi rank and the rideshare bays are about 120 m from the terminal entrance, linked to it by an undercover walkway.
- There is no public transport to the terminal, which is about 21 km (about 30 min) by road from the Brisbane CBD.
- On-site parking is prepaid and run by Wilson Parking, with limited drive-up spaces in Car Park 3 only.

Airport and CBD times
Brisbane Airport is roughly 12 km off, a 15-minute drive, and the city centre is around 21 km, half an hour or so. For a flight home, the ship clearing is the slow part, not the drive. At the airport, licensed coaches can wait without charge in the Central Parking Area until the flight lands.
Brisbane toll roads are cashless. The operator builds any tolls into the route and the quote.
Questions
Can a coach we book ourselves collect passengers at the terminal?
Only once Port of Brisbane and the site parking operator have agreed to it. Without it, only coaches booked by the cruise lines go on site. The operator applies once you confirm the ship and date.
Is there a train or bus we could use instead?
No. Public transport does not reach the terminal. The choices are taxis, rideshare, cars and booked coaches.
Can a minibus use the two-minute loop?
Only if it is under 6.5 m long and has no trailer. A minibus towing a luggage trailer goes to the Coach & Shuttle Area whatever its length.
